#SorryNotSorry
It's easy to jump to the conclusion that your adhesive is the problem if you are not getting the retention you want, but here are a few other factors you should consider first that may be the answer you are looking for!
💦 Humidity
Is the humidity in your lash room at the optimum level for the adhesive you are using? If not, fix it!
As you all know, moisture in the air is what causes the cyanoacrylate in the adhesive to cure. Therefore, the higher the humidity, the faster the adhesive will cure.
Most adhesives will perform optimally in an environment of about 50% - 70% humidity. Anything higher and you will need to invest in a dehumidifier to remove some of the moisture from the air. If your humidity levels are lower than 50% it is worth using a nano mister during the treatment or a humidifier to add extra moisture to the air and speed up the curing process.
🌡 Temperature
The optimal temperature for your lash room is between 20°C – 23°C. If it is too warm your adhesive will cure too quickly and can become tacky. If it is too cold, it will cure very slowly which can cause difficulty with lashes becoming stuck together.
🤓 Technique
Are you taking the time to isolate lashes properly and ensure the placement of extensions is accurate? This will go a long way in ensuring the best possible retention. It is also a good idea to place a fresh drop of adhesive every 20 minutes.
📦 Adhesive Storage
Your adhesive should always be stored in an upright position away from any direct sunlight or heating element. A cool, dark cupboard is ideal, and make sure to always seal your cap tightly after use.
